Your Hearing Specialist, Lincoln

Qualifying in 2007 I have a wealth of experience in the hearing industry. Initially as a store director and principal audiologist for a national supplier developing a successful network of audiology practices before moving to Australia in 2011 to pursue further opportunities and experience.

Returning to the UK in 2013, keen to develop a broader experience, I joined global hearing aid manufacturer Siemens as part of their Audiology team providing clinical training and support to NHS departments and private providers across the country. As part of this team I played a leading role in developing and delivering clinical training packages to raise industry standards in the fitting and verification of hearing instruments. Many of which are seen in audiology clinics across the UK today as an industry benchmark.

Until 2020 I worked for global manufacturing leader WS Audiology working with brands such as Signia & Widex progressing through roles supporting and developing working practices in the public sector, national private providers and latterly with independent private providers throughout the UK, using my experience to help them develop their businesses both clinically and commercially.

On a personal side helping to restore peoples lives by hearing is truly in the family with my wife also being an audiologist. Having a young family it was the natural choice to bring this experience and knowledge back to my home town of Lincoln to bring first class care to people looking for help with their hearing health.

Our business, Bailgate Hearing, opposite the Lincoln County Hospital, is now in our 5th year since opening and we are proud to provide our services as a hearing specialist, Lincoln.

It has been great to meet all the new faces in our state of the art audiology clinic since we opened as well as some of the old ones from the past! We would like to also take the opportunity to thank all of those that have supported us.

best wishes

Gareth

Leonie Sherwood-Heal

Originally from Harrogate I qualified as an Audiologist in 2008 and have gone on to broaden my skills as a hearing aid specialist to include microsuction ear wax removal as well as tinnitus counselling and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

Registered with both the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) as well as BSHAA (British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists) I have a wealth of experience and knowledge of the hearing industry.

Highly Experienced Audiologist

Before joining our family-run specialist audiology clinic and moving to Lincoln, I worked for some of the UK’s well known national hearing centres.

The best thing about opening our family-run clinic has been being able to spend time with clients to really get to know them. This has really helped me be able to bring my passion of restoring peoples hearing and enjoyment of life to reality and I’m looking forward to helping many more people to come.

Out of work we are a busy family with 3 young children, including twins! This certainly means there’s never a dull moment inside or out of working hours!

Meet Cathy

I started my journey in hearing care in 2009 training to become a hearing care assistant (HCA), working alongside our principal audiologist and director Gareth. I have always loved working in the hearing care industry and in 2015 I had the opportunity to undertake the expansion of my skills and carry out the additional training to become an Audiologist.

As an audiologist I have worked extensively in both the private and NHS sectors, helping thousands of people to enjoy hearing again. I particularly enjoy having the opportunity to spend time with all of my patients to really understand their hearing difficulties and love to see the confidence and joy hearing aids can bring to them when communicating better with family and friends.

When the opportunity came along in 2024 to work in a family run independent audiologists, I knew it was the natural next step for me. It allows me to have the freedom to work with many more different brands of hearing aids such as Phonak, GN Resound, Widex, Signia, Oticon and Starkey so I can truly help people to find the hearing aids that will help them enjoy life again!

Out of work I love travelling, shopping and you’ll often find me reading a good book!
