To get the best from your hearing aids and to prolong their lifespan, it is essential to undertake regular maintenance. We wear our hearing aids all of our waking hours and whilst they are durable, maintenance will mean you get the best sound and quality of hearing, every day.
Our top tips for care and maintenance:
Receiver In the Canal hearing aids (RIC):
- Use an antiseptic or alcohol wipe to clean the thin receiver wire, along with the dome to remove any excess dirt or wax. If you are using a cleaning solution do not spray directly spray on to the hearing aid.
- Use the brush provided with your hearing aid to gently brush over the sound outlet at the tip of your dome.
- Removing the dome, check the filter for any wax build up. If the filter appears discoloured and blocked, try using the brush to gently remove the wax build up. If this doesn’t clear the filter it’s time to replace.
- If the hearing aid appears to have moisture you can use a hearing aid drying pot to store your hearing aid overnight. To discuss the most suitable accessories for yourself contact us here.

- Over time the tubing will deteriorate and may become hard. This will affect the sound quality of your hearing aid. If your tubing has become hard, discoloured or you feel the sound quality has diminished please contact us to arrange replacement.
